EOS Reports LIVE From the 2004 GH Fan Weekend!

| Jul. 10th, 2004 04:14 pm The grass is always greener... ...in the Green room, which is where our lovely EOS ladies got to spend a considerable amount of time today, hobnobbing with all the gorgeous people that we see on our screens! They got to act as runners for the event, staying behind the tables with the stars, getting drinks, chatting up the actors, and coping a feel here or there...just kidding...sadly...;) Although, Kathy scored a wink from Maurice...you go, girl!! How's them dimples up close? The EOS girls also got to escort some of the actors into the room, including Tamara Braun and Alicia Lee Willis. Sherry and Kathy have decided they're going to have to throw down for Ted King, while Carolyn is slipping around in her own drool from spending some time with the very gorgeous John J. York. Katrina has become a regular little shutterbug, and from what I hear, us poor souls who couldn't make this year's event are going to be praising her and her ever vigilant camera for many months to come.
If you've been keeping up with what the incomparable Dayna has reported already here--great job, Dayn!!-, you will have heard about the black, satin jacket that NLG wore with Maurice's name crossed out on the back, and "Ric's Chick" written underneath with tape. Maurice was informed about the incident today and was heard to remark, "Really? Really? I'll have to talk to her about that."
A sweet little tidbit of info: When Kim McCullough (ex-Robin, GH) and Maurice taped their scenes together for Lila's funeral, they made each other cry...aw, how sweet is that? I don't know about you guys, but knowing that the actors will be showing such real, raw emotions for Lila's funeral, I just cannot wait to see the scenes air! I am so happy to hear that the scenes will do Anna Lee's memory true justice.
Look for Monica and Big Alice to have lots of scenes in August during a storyline involving the Q's.
Rebecca Herbst fans were THRILLED that she was able to take a little time away from her two children to stop by the event. Becky and her hubby, Michael Saucedo (ex-Juan) chatted with the fans, and signed many, many autographs.
John J. York was reported to be in fine form. Ever the consummate gentleman, while signing autographs, JJY took the time to talk and take pictures with almost each and every fan.
Catherine Wadkins (Mary, GH) is well on her way to becoming a favorite at fan events, as she is not only so beautiful, but so very charming and personable.
Much unlike her character, Kathy reported that Cynthia Preston's personality was absolutely bubbly and bright-eyed.
That's it for now, but be sure and check back often for the newest info, as it happens, from the GH Fan Weekend!

| Jul. 10th, 2004 09:51 am From the NLG Event Several EOS staffers attended Nancy Lee Grahn's Ice Cream Social last night and from what I hear, Katrina was one hip cat in her 50's style outfit. Sure wish I had been there, as I had my e-bay eye on a blue beehive wig that would have been a testament to the great city in which I live (Baltimore... and yeah, we're pretty great - you know you loved "Hairspray").
Nancy arrived on the scene in a black satin jacket that had the name "Maurice Benard" embroidered across the back. Surprised? Don't be - she used masking tape to put an X through the words and on the tape she had written, "Ric's Chick".
Ms. Grahn reports that that a scene has been filmed in which Alexis tells Ric that she's ready to "take Sonny down". She also dispelled 'net rumors about a tango scene between Ric & Alexis - that one hasn't been filmed. My trusty reporter has this to say about Nancy, "She's so incredibly tiny with these tiny, sexy legs. It's unbelievable that they don't dress her better for tv. She's gorgeous." I suggested that if Nancy appeared that small in person, staffers may need to pick up a magnifying glass in order to see Tamara Braun at the luncheon later today.
There were a lot of vocal Sonny/Alexis fans at the event. When asked if she knew when Kristina's paternity would be revealed, Nancy quipped, "Pick a sweeps!" (I just hope it's worthy of a sweeps story...I mean, seriously..Emily could get a hangnail and need Jason's support and Sonny's financial backing and well, I'm probably being snarky). She said that she really wasn't sure, but Daddy Corinthos *might* find out next time around.
Surprise guests included the twin birthday girls (they're 2!) who play Kristina. A celebratory cake was on hand and the curly little moppets were very, very cute. Cynthia Preston (Faith Roscoe) also stopped by and talked at length with the crowd while Nancy signed autographs. She's hysterically funny and witty and while she didn't share any storyline info, she was very entertaining.
Nancy revealed that she often doesn't look ahead and read the script for the day's show before arriving on the set. On the day when she and Rick Hearst were filming in the elevator such was the case, and she was very surprised when she ran into Rick and he smirked, "You know, we make out today". She must have looked shocked because he laughed and told her that she might want to read her script. She's happy to work with Rick Hearst and seemed to think that the writers had a lot of confidence in their story. She didn't say much about the future of their relationship (whether it would become seriously romantic) but the feeling is that a Ric/Alexis dynamic will very much continue to develop.
When asked what she thought of the show's storylines in general, Nancy said that she has learned not to ask too many questions. The writers aren't sharing much in the way of story anymore; what with the Internet revealing so many plot details so far in advance, it's hard to get information from anyone. She thinks that the show has become more balanced recently and while she knew most wouldn't believe it, she attributes the change to Brian Frons and the writers listening to people. She said that watching the same two people all the time, even if those people were Meryl Streep caliber performers, becomes tiring and that the brass realizes as much (adoing!). The writers are firmly behind her story now and she's very pleased.
She commented that the Daytime Emmy tribute to lifetime performers was a little lacking. She discussed the episodes that are dedicated to Lila Quartermaine's funeral and felt that they were a more fitting tribute to Anna Lee. She believes that the funeral will please the fans and reveals that Brooke Lynn will sing "Amazing Grace".
Rick Hearst and Greg Vaughn (Lucky) arrived at the event and worked the crowd thoroughly. Rick is very comfortable behind the microphone (and also "huggy and kissy" but pfft..*I* knew that!) and joked about an upcoming magazine cover photo shoot that he shared with Nancy, "They'll probably put Sonny's face between us". Rick and Greg seemed like pals who maybe hung out off the set. Rick was very supportive of Greg's increased (and hopefully further increasing) presence onscreen. He asked for the audience to continue supporting a story for Lucky. It's a bit of a boy's club at work sometimes and a funny story was shared where Jane Elliott (Tracy Quartermaine) approached a wrestling Steve Burton and Rick Hearst in a hallway. She said, "STOP" and they did. When she passed, she said "GO", and they did. Made me feel like all those rumors about SB's jealousy over Mr. Hearst's impressive acting were unfounded and the result of someone else's green-ness entirely. They're wrestling pals!! A lot of the cast members use boxing as a means to stay in shape.
In closing, I should share that these dedicated LA gals were up at 6am or so and were looking sharp for the day's events. Carolyn was already off to Starbucks and they were excited to glean more info, more info, more info and probably go feel up some soap hotties as well.
Your faithful reporter (at least until I have to go to work later...then the Doctor will be in the house - I think Sarah's taking over around 3pm EST),

| Jul. 9th, 2004 05:24 pm A little birdie.. reports that the Chad Brannon event that took place on Thursday evening went waay into the wee hours (the little hand was on the 2). Chad has a new agent and manager who are aggressively pursuing auditions for him. Good luck, Zan-man. *sniff*
In other news, one EOS staffer should expect a BIG surprise at tomorrow's luncheon. And it's not just that all those lucky duck colleagues of mine are going to help work the check-in tables (how cool is THAT?)...Our lips are sealed are on the rest.

| Jul. 9th, 2004 12:41 pm SCOOPAGE! It must first be said, that despite Katrina's best warnings in the Guide to the GH Fan Weekend for Dummies, the Fashion Police were in demand last night in LA. Someone wore a thong to the pool and offended all whose eyes were not prepared for ass baring. Ew. Of course, the EOS staff looks oh so fabulous as LA Women and are enjoying drinks poolside all the while. That's when they're not trolling the crouching sidewalks for bits of tasty GH gossip for you (and me)!
So far...
Nikolas won't be remembering his life as Nikolas Cassadine anytime soon. Everything in Nik's will was left to sister LuLu and niece Kristina. He still only remembers life as Connor Bishop as he regains legal control of the Cassadine "fortune". Un"fortune"ately, there's not much left to control, as Helena had squandered most of it on her Stavros project a few years back. Nikolas will be having a confrontation with Helena where he pulls a gun! There is continued debate among the writers as to whether the Prince will shoot (and kill??? Nahhh) his grandmother, but it was not written into the already filmed, aforementioned gun pulling scene.
There are no plans for a kinder, gentler Nikolas Cassadine. For the foreseeable future, we're gonna see hard assed Nik (hopefully in the most literal sense, hee hee) and he'll be bringing the Cassadine wealth back into play. No Nikolas/Emily reunion in sight - they're going with the Mary and Nikolas story for a while yet.
Wally Kurth and his wife found out they are expecting a boy!
That's all the scoop for now - can't wait to hear and report more! 15 comments - Leave a comment | |

| Jul. 9th, 2004 09:01 am No word yet... Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm here manning the Live Journal, anxiously awaiting phone calls from LA that will give you up to date Fan Weekend information. Shouldn't be long before we're finding out that yes, Rick Hearst is completely devastated that I wasn't able to attend. I know you're on the edge of your seat. ;)
Have a great Friday and check back later on for scoopage!
